Dennis E. Singleton
Dennis E. Singleton has served as a director since 2004. Mr. Singleton is currently
the Chairman of our Board, Chair of our Compensation Committee and a member
of our Audit Committee. Mr. Singleton was a founding partner of Spieker Partners,
the predecessor of Spieker Properties, Inc., one of the largest owners and operators
of commercial property on the west coast prior to its $7.2 billion acquisition
by Equity Office Properties Trust in 2001. Mr. Singleton served as Chief Financial
Officer and Director of Spieker Properties, Inc. from 1993 to 1995, Chief Investment
Officer and Director from 1995 to 1997 and Vice Chairman and Director from 1998
until his retirement in 2001. During his tenure, Mr. Singleton was involved
in identifying and analyzing strategic portfolio acquisition and operating opportunities
and oversaw the acquisition and development of more than 20 million square feet
of commercial property. From 2001 to the present, Mr. Singleton has managed
personal investments in real estate. Mr. Singleton is currently a member of
the board of directors and serves on the audit and compensation committees of
BRE Properties, Inc., which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Mr. Singleton
received a Bachelor of Science degree from Lehigh University and a Master of
Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School.
A. William Stein
Chief Executive Officer
A. William Stein (Bill) has served as Digital Realty’s Chief Executive Officer
since November 2014 and as Chief Financial Officer from July 2004 until April
2015. Previously, he held the role of Chief Investment Officer from July 2004
until April 2014.
Prior to joining Digital Realty, Bill was with GI Partners, Digital Realty’s
predecessor private equity fund. Bill has over thirty years of investment, financial,
and operating experience in both large company environments and small, rapidly
growing companies. Prior to joining the company, Bill provided turnaround management
advice to both public and private companies. Bill has held a wide range of leadership
roles, including Co-Head of VentureBank@PNC and Media and Communications Finance
at The PNC Financial Services Group, where he was responsible for directing
the delivery of PNC’s products and services to VentureBank’s high technology
and emerging growth client base; President and Chief Operating Officer of TriNet
Corporate Realty Trust (now part of iStar Financial); Executive Vice President,
Chief Financial Officer and Secretary of TriNet Corporate Realty Trust; and
a number of senior investment and financial management positions with Westinghouse
Electric, Westinghouse Financial Services and Duquesne Light Company. Bill practiced
law for eight years, specializing in both litigation and securities & finance.
Bill received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University, a Juris Doctor
degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Master of Science degree with
Distinction from the Graduate School of Industrial Administration at Carnegie
Chief Financial Officer
Prior to joining Digital Realty, Andy served as Managing Director of the Real
Estate, Gaming and Lodging Investment Banking for Bank of America Merrill Lynch,
where he was responsible for relationships with over 40 public and private companies,
including Digital Realty. Prior to Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Andy was employed
by Citigroup, where he held similar positions. During his career, he has managed
the execution of public and private capital raises in excess of $30 billion,
including the largest REIT IPO to date, and more than $19 billion of merger
and acquisitions transactions. Andy was part of the lead underwriting team that
advised Digital Realty on its initial public offering in 2004 and served as
a lead manager on nearly every subsequent public capital raise.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Analytical Finance from Wake Forest
Chief Operating Officer
Jarrett Appleby joined Digital Realty in April 2015 as the company’s first Chief
Operating Officer and is responsible for corporate strategy and global operations,
including property and technical operations; design and construction; EMEA and
APAC operations; and product management and development.
Jarrett has more than 25 years of experience as a technology leader, spanning
strategy, corporate development, sales and marketing, and global operations,
including several executive leadership roles in the data center and telecommunications
industry. Immediately prior to joining Digital Realty, he served as founder
and CEO of the Appleby Group, an independent consultancy advising private equity
and technology companies. Previously, Jarrett was Chief Operating Officer of
CoreSite Realty from 2012 to 2014, and Chief Marketing Officer of Equinix from
2008 to 2012.
He received Bachelor of Arts and MBA degrees from Lehigh University.
Chief Investment Officer
Scott has over 27 years of real estate experience, including Senior Vice President
with GIC Real Estate, the real estate investment entity for the Government of
Singapore Investment Corporation. Scott was also active in investments, development
and asset management with LaSalle Partners, a real estate services company,
and Trammel Crow Company, a real estate developer. Scott earned a Bachelor of
Arts degree from Northwestern University and a Master of Business Administration
degree from Northwestern University.
Chief Information Officer
Michael Henry joined Digital Realty in April 2015 as the company’s first Chief
Information Officer. He is responsible for all aspects of the company's IT infrastructure,
including business intelligence, internal business applications, and information
security. Prior to Digital Realty, Michael was the Chief Information Officer
Michael has more than 25 years of enterprise-wide business and technology experience,
including leadership roles at Ericsson, Align Technology, and Applied Materials.
Michael received a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems Management
from the University of San Francisco.
Chief Technology Officer
Chris Sharp has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry, with
an extensive background in developing technology strategies in global markets.
He has a deep knowledge of the data center sector and is well positioned to
expand technical innovation at Digital Realty. Most recently, he was responsible
for cloud innovation at Equinix, where he led the development of innovative
cloud services solutions and developed new capabilities enabling next-generation,
high-performance exchange and interconnection solutions, facilitating broad
commercial adoption of cloud computing on a global basis. Previously, Mr. Sharp
held leadership positions at top network and colocation providers, including
Qwest Communications, MCI/Verizon Business and Reliance Globalcom.
Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Matt Miszewski is Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, at Digital Realty,
responsible for overseeing the company’s sales and leasing efforts as well as
marketing activities globally. He joined Digital Realty in January 2013.
His more than 20+ years of professional experience includes a prior role at
Salesforce.com, where he was Senior Vice President, Enterprise Sales and the
Global Public Sector, responsible for establishing a new enterprise sales program
that was focused on global and strategic accounts. He also served as General
Manager, Worldwide Government at Microsoft, where he reformed the firm’s Global
Public Sector business unit to focus on industry relevant solution-selling for
the government vertical. In addition, earlier in his career, Matt worked as
Chief Information Officer for the State of Wisconsin, President of an IT consulting
firm and partner in a law firm.
Matt received his Law Degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School and
his Bachelor of Arts from Marquette University.
Senior Vice President of Corporate Services
Ellen Jacobs is Digital Realty’s Sr. Vice President of Corporate Services, responsible
for our Human Resource and Enterprise Technology functions. Prior to joining
Digital Realty, Ms. Jacobs served in various Vice President of Human Resource
positions at Charles Schwab, Advanced Micro Devices, and Continental Grain Company.
Ms. Jacobs spent 15 years as a grain trader with Continental Grain, Central
Soya and Cargill, Inc. prior to entering the Human Resource field. Ms. Jacobs
received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Colorado
– Boulder and an MBA from Northwestern Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
Senior Vice President, General Counsel
Mr. Mills joined Digital Realty as General Counsel in April, 2005. Prior to
joining Digital Realty, Mr. Mills was a corporate attorney with Latham & Watkins,
LLP where his practice included mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance
and venture capital financing transactions as well as general company representation.
Prior to joining Latham & Watkins, Mr. Mills served as Associate General Counsel
for McAfee.com Corporation and as an associate with Shearman & Sterling, LLP.
Mr. Mills received a B.A. degree from the University of Washington and a J.D.
from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
Senior Vice President and Controller
He joined the company in September 2005. With more than 20 years experience,
his previous positions include Vice President & Controller of Catellus Development
Corporation, now part of ProLogis ; Controller of Bay Apartment REIT, now Avalon
Bay; and O’Connor Realty Advisors. In addition, Mr. Sham was a practicing CPA
for Ernst & Young LLP in their real estate group for seven years. Mr. Sham received
a B.S. degree from San Francisco State University and is a member of AICPA and
California CPA society.
Managing Director, EMEA
Bernard Geoghegan joined Digital Realty in April 2013 as managing director,
EMEA, and is responsible for managing and driving the growth of the company’s
operations in EMEA. Previously, Mr. Geoghegan served as executive vice president
of Colt Data Centre Services and was instrumental in developing its modular
data centre offering. Prior to joining Colt, Mr. Geoghegan served as senior
vice president of International Operations at Digital Realty from 2008 through
2010 after joining the Company in 2006 as vice president, Europe.
Mr. Geoghegan is a veteran of the IT industry with over 25 years of experience
in the sector. Prior to joining DLR in 2006, Bernard was the chief executive
officer of Servecentric Ltd., a provider of colocation and premium managed services
to the Irish market. Previously, Bernard held senior operations and IT roles
at Worldport and Xerox Europe and held various IT management and Software Development
roles with Pioneer Investments, Informix Software Inc., Digital Equipment Corporation
Senior Vice President, Investor Relations
John Stewart has served as Digital Realty’s Senior Vice President of Investor
Relations since August 2013. He has over 15 years of financial services industry
Prior to joining Digital Realty, John led the industrial and technology REIT
sector coverage at Green Street Advisors, a leading independent real estate
research firm. Previously, he was the lead REIT analyst at Credit Suisse. John
has followed the REIT sector since 2000, formerly as a member of top-ranked
teams at Citigroup Investment Research and Merrill Lynch. John began his career
as a credit analyst with the Corporate Finance group at Bank of America.
John received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State
University. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute as well
as the New York Society of Securities Analysts. John is also a member of the
National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts and the National Investor
Senior Vice President of Partners and Alliance
William (Bill) Bradley is Senior Vice President of Partners and Alliances at
Digital Realty, responsible for leading the company’s Partner and Alliance Program
and developing the firm’s corporate strategy.
Prior to taking on this role in April 2015, Bill served as Digital Realty’s
Senior Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development. He joined Digital
Realty following a 17-year career in investment banking including six years
at Credit Suisse where he most recently served as a Managing Director in Credit
Suisse’s Global Mergers & Acquisitions Group, focused on telecommunications
service provider and data center operators. Previous to his career at Credit
Suisse, Bill held similar positions at Citigroup for nine years. Bill received
a Master of Business Administration from New York University and a Bachelor
of Arts in Philosophy from Tufts University.
Senior Vice President, Strategy
Philip Lin has served as our Senior Vice President of Global Strategy since
August 2015. He has over 15 years of related experience, most recently in the
Asia Pacific region with 21Vianet. Prior to this, he was involved with financing
several leading data center and Internet infrastructure companies as a private
equity investor at Kluge & Company. He is a graduate of Cornell University and
Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
